The last two days have been good around here.

On Thursday, we stayed home, in our pajamas, all day! We goofed around, played together and at one point, Amos got Flannery's little elephant out and was playing with her. He loves to share toys with her and sometimes we have to explain that now's not a good time to play!
One of the markers of Flannery's growth is that she no longer poos all of the time, but will wait and have one big blowout every day or so. Sorry if that's too much information, but that change made me realize that she's no longer a newborn! Awe!
So because she had a blowout on Thursday morning, I gave her a bath while Amos played. Nathan had moved the table that housed Amos' indoor sandbox (sand in a long storage container) upstairs and made it into a train table. He was so excited to have a new train table!
When we went back downstairs, Amos went back to where his sandtable was and started playing in the sand that was leftover on the floor! I finally moved his sand back in and he loved it...he sat in it, dug in it and had a blast for hours on end. We left the mess for a day or two and then it got cleaned up!
Nathan was home for a bit on Thursday night before music practice and then it was me and the kiddos again. While Flannery had a little nap, Amos and I did some cuddling and Pilates on the floor together. When Nathan got home, he got some good cuddle time in!

On Friday, we decided to go to the Children's Museum because our good friend Jeremy was in a play there and we wanted to see him in action! So we went early to play a bit and found out when we got there, that yes, it was still Spring Break! So the place was packed. But this time, it was better since Nathan and I were both there. Nathan carried Flannery in the front pack and I ran around with Amos. We did a few different things this time, and some of the same. Amos wanted to immediately go to the race car, put on his helmet and drive like a bat out of hell! Then it was on to the bulldozer and then the water play area. He also found a bunny costume and pretended to hop like a bunny!
Then we went up to the carousel and then to the play. Amos enjoyed both, and again, I was thankful that Nathan was there. Flannery needed to eat and be changed during the play so I was glad that the boys got to enjoy the whole thing while we girls did our thing!

That afternoon, I ran out to take dinner to a family with a new baby. Everyone was napping so I decided to go out by myself, which was awesome! It took me longer than I thought, so when I got home, Nathan was giving Flannery a bottle! We were mostly successful...she took half of the bottle from Nathan and then half from me. Later that night, we tried a new place for dinner downtown (a bad idea on a Friday night but the food was good!) and as we were wrapping up, Flannery woke up hungry and started screaming. After trying to get her to calm down, I tried the binky, which she happily took and for awhile! I was so happy!
Since then, we've tried the bottle and the binky again, both with moderate success, so we'll keep trying. It would be great if she could take a bottle so that we could leave her with a babysitter if needed. And of course, taking a binky would also be helpful. So we'll see.

The weekend has been wonderful...we spent time outside playing on Saturday. Amos practiced riding his tricycle and Nathan mowed the lawn.
Today has been a great day of rest--great worship this morning, naps and then dinner with our neighborhood tonight.

Can life get any sweeter?!!
Awww! you sound so happy Sarah. I'm glad that you had such good days in a row. Those little respites from the grind of motherhood are totally what keep me going and are such a gift from the Lord! Flannery is getting so chubby! Love from us here!
