It was crisp and cool, gorgeous and romantic, and I was sad when it all ended. Oddly enough, November has been strange around here. It's been really windy, so the leaves are mostly gone and pretty warm, so I'm back to wearing summery clothing and my Chaco flipflops! I'll try to remember this when it's below zero in a few months! :)
We spent one fine October morning at the park. Amos brought his shovel to dig the woodchips (and leaves, as it turned out!) and then enjoyed swinging on a big kid swing. He's such a big boy!!
To celebrate my birthday, we went out to an Irish restaurant/pub that allows kids and had some yummy fish 'n' chips. Later in the month, we went to Ikea and I got a new red rocking chair with my birthday money. Even though I got it in hopes of rocking a certain Baby Sister in it, it's also turned out to be a really comfortable chair for pregnancy!!
We went hiking with our pastor, his family and another family from church a few Thursdays ago. It was the peak of fall, with the trees and leaves in their absolute glory. We had never been down to Brown County or to Nashville, IN, and it was a really lovely place. Brown County is gorgeous and Nashville is a quaint little tourist spot, great for walking around and browsing knick-knack shops.
That weekend, our friends, the Jensens came over for a quick weekend so Rick could play music again with Nathan, for our church services. It was alot like the old days in Seattle when they got to sing together every week. It was a treat! We took them out for pizza and then went downtown to the Circle Monument, where the kiddos ran around and got their energy, which they really enjoyed!
And for Halloween, we didn't really do much to celebrate. Amos was really freaked out last year, so we didn't feel a huge desire to get all dressed up and celebrate! So Nathan brewed beer and we went to visit him and played a bit of baseball. We really didn't miss it that much, though!
