Happy Mother's Day!

Ah yes, my favorite time of year came and went and it was wonderful! I should say, though, that every day is Mother's Day for me. Nathan and Amos are so sweet and caring and Nathan helps out alot on weekends and days off. Even so, it was great to have a weekend of celebrating!
On Friday, the boys ran errands while I vegged on the couch, watching morning tv and reading my stack of new cookbooks from the library.
On Saturday morning, I woke up to a cuddley little Amos and then breakfast in bed. It mostly worked; Amos ate a few bites but was too distracted by all the fun play possibilities to focus on eating. I unwrapped my presents and got lots of good cooking tools from the Rachael Ray kitchen line! I was so excited to use them and so far, I've been enjoying my new knives and such!
After breakfast I was happy to find packages in the mail for me: my new red Chacos and cookbooks from my Mom and Dad! Later that day we went to the gardening store and picked out herbs for our front flower beds...they smell soooo good!
And on Sunday, we spent the gorgeous afternoon napping and buying dirt and mulch for our plants. Most of them were soon planted and now we are working on our herb garden!
This past Saturday, as I cleaned out papers and such, I found Amos' medical records and was reading again about hydrocephalus. I was so thankful to God for the gift of Amos in our life and for his incredibly healthy and smart brain. There were so many possibilities of brain damage or neurological delays and I was praising God again, that Amos is doing soo well and that I get to enjoy him every day. What a gift.
