Amos' antics.

The other night we played dress up...he was so excited to find his frying pan guitar!

Our son Amos is a character. Yes, I've said it before, but it's really true. He's a vibrant person with LOTS of energy, a big voice (wonder where he gets it?!) and alot to say (again, who's shocked?). He is such a sweetie, though, and I love capturing the moments when he's playing, drifts off into his own little world and makes something really cool. Or when he's walking around, singing at the top of his lungs, playing his broom like a guitar.

His words and vocabulary have become quite funny as of late, with Amos saying things in the right context, with the right tone of voice and with total confidence.

Par example:

Me: "Hey Amos, do you want some pizza?"
Amos: "No, I fine."
Me: "Oh, ok!" (let the laughing begin!)
Me: "Amos, please take a bite!"
Amos: "I did already!"
Me: "OH!"
Me: "Amos, please stop singing at the table!"
Amos: "Oh, I got."
Me: "You're God?"
Amos: "No, I got to sing at the table."
Me: "Oh, you forgot?"
Amos: "Yeah, I got to sing at the table." (duh!)
:)
Me: "Amos, do you want to take your lawnmower outside?"
Amos: "Yes, I go outside and lawn the grass!"
(hahahaha!) (And then Nathan always corrects him, "MOW the grass!").
Amos: "Escue me Mama, escue me."
Me: "Amos, I'm talking to Dada..."
Amos: "Escue me escue me Mama..."
And then we have to pause and talk to him since he's asked so nicely!
One day we were walking into the store and Amos said, "Mama, Dada a nice guy!"
I about lost it, but controlled myself enough to heartily agree with him!
He's also into changing the words to songs, one of his favorites being, "Wheel of the Apprentice!!" or "Wheel of the Office!!!"
He's never really watched either show, just heard us talking about them!!
He will tell us he loves us, out of the blue and likes to remember people he knows, hoping they'll come to our house!

He now can sing the entire chorus of "Nothing But the Blood" and hits almost every note. Yes, confirmation that he's the son and grandson of singers!!
He's doing well with learning his ABC's and 123's, thanks to the Target dollar bin! We have Sesame Street flash cards with the characters on them and Amos has been doing really well learning the alphabet and numbers. I'm excited to keep helping him learn even more, again, working on the days of the week, the concept of time as a whole, continued work on eating and playing with friends.
We're loving this season of life with him and look forward to watching him continue to explore his world!
