Gene Edward Veith has some great posts over at his blog.
I have to say that since Obama has been elected, I have worried more about the Freedom of Choice Act being signed into law and our tax dollars being used to pay for it. During the election, I was against him for that foundational reason, but then came to really dislike him. And even though I had some good discussions, shedding light on other good things to come from his being elected, still I can't shake this.
I think the biggest thing I can't understand is how could someone vote for him knowing that this Act would possibly undo the progress that's been made. Sure, there were other things to dislike McCain for, and yes, it's historic that we have some one who'e less caucasion than the rest of the presidents, and on and on and on. So, how do you justify it? I had a great conversation this afternoon where they said that because they could see the possibility of the horrible injustice of slavery being undone because Obama is now president and that they were excited about our new president, and that they would trust God to take care of the other injustices.
I think that was a good word.
So I am going to pray that Obama shows mercy and is not as liberal as he's been before. I'm also going to pray that the anger and frustration over his being elected goes away and that God DOES protect our country, make it prosper and bring redemption to the downtrodden. HE is the only one that can really do that.
And yes, I am a sore loser. But I think anyone non-Republican would have easily won the election--the stage was set. Could we not have found someone with a little more character and backbone?

Sarah, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I would like to talk to you more about this. My struggle is that I wish that more Christians who are pro-life would be more involved in providing solutions to people facing unplanned pregnancies- like be willing to adopt or foster children, volunteer at a crisis pregnancy center, etc. Let's talk some time.
One person (Christian) I know said that he voted for him in part because he was more likely to address the social and poverty issues that are powerful motivating factors for women considering abortion. He felt the republicans were more likely to just make a law and not look at the great problems. Still, the Freedom of Choice Act a huge deal, and I share some of your sentiment. And I agree, we are called to be on our knees. It seems like folks are starting to worship Obama, which is disturbing. OUr hope is in Christ.
I've recently been thinking about how we will always be disappointed in man, presidents in particular. We can't expect the the hearts of the lost to be softened. We are dead to sin unless we are given a new life. Our only "hope" is in Christ. Only he can heal hurts.
My heart aches for the unborn and their mothers. We me and the kids) pray for "unborn babies" daily.
My sister volunteers for their local CPC - they're always in need of volunteers!
