Sunny Day

Yesterday and today have been beautiful sunny days. Nathan took the day off yesterday, for the first time since our friends were visiting. It was great to have him with us for the whole day. We decided to check out the giant park on the west side that has great hiking trails and playgrounds, called Eagle Creek Park. After a brunch at Starbucks, we drove to the park, which wasn't too far away. We figured out the map and found a fun playground, where we had fun on the swings, the slide and the merry-go-round. Then we stuck Amos in the jogger stroller to hike around with us. We hiked around and found a few lakes and then, after Amos fell asleep, we decided to hike up and do the fitness trail. It turned out to be a lengthy track that had exercises and stretches along the way. We tried to do each one, and some were more difficult than others. After we did the track we decided get going, being hot and tired. Amos woke up when we got to the car and we headed home.

For dinner we had a variation of one of my new favorite recipes. I roast veggies and chicken for Mexican tostadas. I found taco shells at the store and decided to try and have tostadas in taco shells. It turned out to be super tasty, better than the original recipe.

After dinner, Nathan and Amos played together out front, with the chalk. And I spent time admiring my toe, the one I stubbed on our suitcase, which is still packed from being in TN. When I first stubbed it (that morning), it hurt and felt swollen and I knew it wasn't broken, but it was pretty painful. For our walk, I taped it to the toe next to it, which helped things a bit. When we got home and the bandaid came off, my toe was a magenta-purple color. After talking to my dad, who actually broke his pinky toe, I decided it wasn't broken. By the end of the day, my toe was a lighter shade of pink and so I definitely wasn't worried.

It was a great day together.
