I've finally gotten around to having time to post about our trip! We're watching Juno, which Nathan hasn't seen yet, so I'm sitting here, blogging with the movie in the bakground.
Like I mentioned before, our trip was really great and it was beautiful being there. After we were up and around on Thursday morning, Amos was introduced to a new guitar and reunited with his other one. We were all laughing at how appropriate it was that he has more than one guitar already. He also found his toy closet that had new goodies: our old farm barn and school house that we used to play with. We enjoyed hanging out together and Beth and Dan realized that they had similar short shirt issues due to their expanding bellies! After playing with the dogs a bit, we headed into town to play at Pinkerton Park, a place where we used to hang out alot. The playground was a bit old for Amos but he did enjoy the drums that we found and the firetruck. After the park we met Bethany for lunch and then sent Nathan to the worship conference. That afternoon it was more fun with Dad and the dogs and dinner with our friends. It was great to reunite with the Jensens and Holly Dutton.

Friday morning, we figured decided to try this thing everyone talks about: Grandparents! Of course, Amos was up earlier than we wanted to be so I took him and a clean diaper downstairs to his grandparents and aunt (who were already waiting for him to wake up and come down to play) and went back to bed. It was awesome! Nathan had to get up and go to the conference so I had the whole bed to myself. When I finally got up, I came down to a Grandaddy and Amos who were jammin' together on the guitars. We had breakfast and then went shopping, taking Amos to Old Navy and Target, where Amos fell asleep in the stroller. We were able to check out and walk over to Red Robin to have lunch. We went home and tried another nap, but Amos wouldn't have it. We had dinner at the yummy Mexican place, La Hacienda and then returned home to await friends coming to visit. Rick and Vicki soon arrive after getting lost in the country) and Holly arrived soon after. It was so so great to hang out and catch up. It had been since early fall since we had seen them, and they had not been back to the Meeksarosa for awhile so my parents were excited to see them all. We all stayed up way too late but had a wonderful time.

Saturday morning we watched as Mom did an appointment for Beth and Dan and Amos became her little assistant. After the appointment, Mom tried to listen to Amos' heart, but he freaked out. The whole shot thing being associated with a stethoscope is still really fresh so he wasn't to thrilled about his Grandmarmie trying to listen to his heart. We tried to help him become more comfortable by listening to his little stuffed doggie's heart and then we listened to my heart. And then we checked the doggie's blood pressure, which Amos enjoyed.
After that we played some more outside to get the wiggles out before our trip. Amos and his Da-da played with the dogs while Mom and I weeded the front garden. The weather was perfect, since it was cloudy and cool, we enjoyed being outside.
We finally packed up (and I was reunited with my big pink fuzzy robe from cleaning out my junk) and hit the road. As always, Amos fell asleep soon after we were on the road. Before leaving, we documented the fact that the Robbins and Partains were together without little Elijah being in the picture (his face, at least!) and can't wait to be together again, upon his arrival.
