More fun...

Today we went to the zoo with friends Mark and Tara and their son Crew. We had a blast--the boys were really interested in the animals, (Amos wound up barking or mooing for most of them!), the weather was perfect and the zoo is really nice. Here are pictures from our adventure!

That's right--Nathan is petting the shark! I pet it too and it freaked me out!

"I am the Walrus, coo-coo ka choo!"

We were in the dolphin tank--water above and all around us. It was so cool!

Amos loved the elephants. He brought along his stuffed elephant and finally got that they made the same sound.

The most exciting thing at the zoo was not the animals, but the digger and excavator! Luckily we had our truck book on hand to read and compare the ones in the book to the ones in real life. Lots of fun!

ahh, the truck and tractor phase of boyhood development! isn't it glorious?! beothan knows all of the construction site behemoths by name and can tell you the difference between a backhoe, a trackhoe, and a standard "digger." a few weeks ago, when we were cleaning up toys after a morning playgroup at the zerfoss residence, elizabeth asked my son if he could help her "put the tractor away in the bin." beothan surveyed her with annoyance and pity for a few seconds before correcting her - "THIS is a forklift crane."

yikes.

we really miss you guys! there's a substantial rumor circulating that you are coming for a visit in july. dare i get my hopes up?
