More fun with friends

We've all just said goodbye, I cried a bit, and everyone left! They're on their way to Franklin, to have some more quality fun. We've had a blast together, and I was reminded of how wonderful our friends were (each of them) in Seattle. Too bad we can't marry the two cities...that would be great!

Here's a recap of the last few days:

On Tuesday we went to the library, to show off the new building. We walked around the sixth floor for views of the city and then went to the Childrens' section so Amos could run around and be loud without anyone complaining! It was there that we hit the jackpot! We found an area that was like a little theater, with stadium seating and a stage. The stage was all green and there was a camera that would shoot you interacting with the animated cartoons on the tvs on the wall. We played here for a long time! We ran races, did the laundry and rode the skateboard. And, had a blast! That night we had dinner and hung out, watching Amos play with the boys. He made up games with both of them and really enjoyed playing!

On Wednesday, after a lazy breakfast and morning, the girls and I went for haircuts. There's a new salon just a five-minute walk away, so we had a fun time being pampered while the boys stayed home with Amos. He was not feeling so good, as his molar was giving him trouble. A good nap and lunch helped things and after we returned with beautiful hair, we headed for the free Art Museum. The main thing we wanted to show off there, was the beautiful stained glass window that used to be in our church building. After looking at some of the other art, we decided to go North, to Broad Ripple, a little Downtown Franklin/Fremon-y type place just a few minutes away. We had yummy Thai for dinner and then walked a bit to the only place around there that served ice cream, Boggie Burger. That place was small and funky (in a good way!) and we had yummy ice cream and the best chocolate malt milk shakes ever. We hung out by the river and watched the ducks. Amos mimicked them, saying "Cack, cack!" It was great!

After we returned home and got Amos to bed, it was time for Cranium, a game we used to play together all of the time. The boys drank their scotch, and the girls sipped tea and had a showdown. The girls won, after a rousing contest and then we played the phrase-picture-phrase game (someday I'll explain it!), which was also alot of fun! And for awhile after that, we had fun typing in random phrases to the computer for it to say (something Brendan did, who knows way too much about computers!). Finally, around 1 AM, we decided to go to bed, satisfied with the fun we had on our last night together.

This morning the boys got up early and went with Nathan to work, to play on the cool instrument he's building. We girls took it easy and were slow getting going. Amos, as usual, enjoyed playing with his new and constant group of friends, and it was great to hear him laugh and see him play with someone other than us, and have it be good friends and family. Nathan came home for lunch and after that, we said goodbye.

We had a great time together!
