Monday Monday

...la, la, la la la...
So it's Monday morning. Nathan's off to work to get ahead before his big meetings day tomorrow. Amos and I are home and have eaten breakfast. Amos has begun his rounds of playing in different parts of the house, which mostly entails his crawling around to various rooms, pulling shoes or toys of shelves or from his fake kitchen and playing happily until something else grabs his attention.
Before Nathan went on his walk to work, we did some walking practice, with Amos taking a few steps between Nathan and I. We found that the more excited we got, the more excited he was to try and do more steps. It seems though, that he doesn't really want to walk, and that he's reluctant to change. Hmmm, he's starting to sound like his mom...comfortable where she is, doesn't like change!
Anyway, as we were waving goodbye to Nathan on the front porch, I noticed that again, it's a Seattle weather day. It's mildly warm, but the wetness in the air, and fog, make it also damply chilly and makes you reach for your fleece and/or weather jacket. Where are my Smart Wool socks and hiking boots, good for wet weather? The smell in the air is fresh, despite being in the city, and it reminds me of being able to walk out onto our front steps, smell the pines and feel like we were camping at Mount Rainier. Ahh, we never took that for granted!
We are moving slowly this morning, as Amos was up early, ready for breakfast. The last two mornings I've slept in, so this one has been particularly tough. When I express to people the desire for us to be on an earlier schedule, their response is, "enjoy this time!!" This morning makes me appreciate the times I've gotten to sleep in, something very high on my list of things I treasure! And even though I've had wonderful coffee (on this Seattle weather morning), I'm still dragging!
Amos is feeling better, I think, as his appetite has returned and he hasn't needed Tylenol for a fever in a day or so. I did feel another molar trying to break through on the on the bottom, so we may need to go back to the magic T, soon. He still has a runny nose, which makes him snore horribly at night, but even that is getting better, running clear instead of yellow.
I hope to post pictures and stories from our weekend and of our celebrating Nathan's birthday. We'll see how the rest of the day goes! Maybe I'll get the jogger out and cover out, and take Amos for a walk, remembering life where spitting precipitation did not stop you from being outside!
