29 days of February Fitness

I've decided to get all Ellen-y (as in Ellen Degeneres) on myself, to get in gear and try to lose 10 lbs this month, and in March. That means that I have to exercise for at least 20 minutes a day every day this month, to hopefully attain my goal. In the month of January, I lost 5 or so lbs by cutting out chai lattes everyday, soda, sugar in general and fat. I've tried making my portions smaller and eating small healthy snacks through the day. My sister, Abby is my personal trainer, and she's been very helpful in outlining foods that are and are not good for me, as well as an exercise schedule for four days of the week. Since Amos was born, I've had a voracious appetite (and did, even when I was pregnant) and have not attempted to curb it, sighting breastfeeding as an excuse to eat whatever I want. Before getting pregnant, I never watched what I ate, and was blessed to also not have to exercise. I think that this season of life has really challenged my vanity and view of what's really beautiful in a good way. Cutting my hair off last spring sealed the deal in terms of vanity, etc, for me and I feel like God has shown me through all of this that our souls are and will be the most important parts of our bodies, that they need to be cared for and nourished more than our skin or hair or bodies. Yes, we need to take care of the bodies God blessed us with, but I also definitely need to stop judging books by their covers and be more mindful of what's inside.
Anyway, that said, I am ready to crack down on my eating whatever I want business and get into better shape and health. I have, too, this month, and I feel good about setting goals and giving myself limits. Plus, I miss my old Levis, and want to fit into them so badly!! And lastly, there's a whole slew of family photos to be taken this spring and summer with Beth, Dan and baby to be in town, so I want to slim down for that (I guess I still am vain--oh well!).
So let the exercising begin...we'll see how this goes!
Friday Feb 1 and Saturday Feb 2--I did Pilates for 20 minutes
