There are so many stories to tell, starting back from after Christmas.
We returned from Tennessee and fun with family to the last few weeks of being in the "gray house." Nathan started with the basement and for the next two weeks would pack boxes and boxes and boxes of STUFF into a borrowed box truck to take to our borrowed storage area.
By the middle of January, we had moved back into the house of our dear friends, the Berends, this time setting up house on their third floor. Since things were still up in the air with our "new" house, we were going to need to be somewhere temporarily and for now, it was really helpful and comforting to us all to be back in a familiar place.
On January 18th, we spent the morning saying goodbye to our home for the last five years. Nathan and I realized that it was the only home that the kids had ever known and so we wanted to spend time adequately processing. It was sad for the kids, but again, heading to the Berends' house quickly eased the pain and for that, we were so very thankful. That afternoon, we closed on the house, handed over the keys, and officially letting go of the "gray house." We had mixed emotions as we signed and accepted everyone's congratulations.
We still drive by our gray house and say hello and every now and then, Flannery asks if we'll be going back. No, we hope to be going to a new place soon! (More on that later!)
