It might seem silly to go to the trouble of packing everything and everyone up to go away for 24 hours, but that's what we decided to do this weekend.
We left Indy around 2 on Sunday and arrived in time to celebrate his birthday at his mustache bash.
The kids loved being there, dressing up, running around with the other kids and playing in the little pool. It was so hot though, and holding/nursing a baby in 95 degree weather was interesting, to say the least.
Aunt Abby was also there for the festivities, which was great fun.
Yesterday, we headed downtown to the Citygardens, where there were lots of fountains and shallow pools for the kids (and adults!) to splash around in. We had a blast! The fountains are beautiful and fun and it was great to get our first taste of swimming this year!
We all had good rest and naps that afternoon and then went back outside for more water play. The kids had a water balloon fight with Dan and Nathan and then ran through the sprinkler.
After dinner together and more playtime, it was time to head home. Amos and Flannery watched a movie and then fell asleep after we stopped to feed Levi.
We made it home safely, thankfully, and this morning, are reminiscing about how much fun we had with our family.
