The morning started with a little wrapping-paper-tube duel...

followed by a photoshoot!

(Daddy got a new kite, brand new, in the box, from the Goodwill Outlet!)

We saved the best for last, the one thing Amos asked for repeatedly...

...Star Wars Legos...
...the Millineum Flacon! Of course, it is way too complicated for Amos to do, so he and Daddy set out to do it together.
(But not before Flannery got to build with Daddy too...)

There is a striking resemblance in hair-dos...
Thousands of little Lego pieces...
and thus began hours of work! No matter, they loved building it together! We had a great day together, which was really enjoyable. On Saturday, we would go to a Christmas brunch with friends and return home with me feeling sick. I would get sick with the stomach flu later that day and have to call our trusty Berend friends to come and get our kids so that they would be taken care of while I recovered in bed and Nathan worked and led church. After all, it was Christmas Eve! The kids spent the night and Nathan slept in the guest bedroom, so thankfully, no one else got sick. It was pretty strange to be alone on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning (Nathan got up early to go back to church for the service later that morning) but I was thankful that we got to spend time together, just the four of us.
We will always do Christmas differently, mostly because of Nathan's job. It's a challenge some years, to work it all out, as it is a really busy time for Nathan. But it always works out and thankfully, even with me getting sick, it did work out.
