He has done well, but doesn't completely love it. He doesn't like getting up early and missing his favorite PBS Kids shows. He is slow to wake up usually, and likes a good morning cuddle (much like his Mama!).
He does like school once he gets there, though. His teachers are sweet and his best friend is in his class. That helps so much!
So far this week, they've been learning about the different materials in their class...the colored pencils, markers, blocks and books. They've been learning each others' names and have been learning about telling stories, which will eventually lead to reading and writing. Amos has been doing some great pictures with markers and paper, which is cool because he doesn't do much of that at home!
Lunch has been probably the biggest challenge for him. We are still figuring out what he'll be motivated to eat or can eat and then he is still working on focusing and eating as much as possible. On Monday and Tuesday, he was pretty cranky coming home and I attribute that to eating very little of his lunch! But I spoke to his teacher about it and she is really wanting to help us out, so that's exciting!
Here are pictures from Monday:

And from Tuesday:

I have done pretty well too! I have really enjoyed taking him to school this week and seeing friends as they drop off their kids, too. I'm excited to get to know the parents here and to becoming more involved with this community!
(Also, this week marks 5 years that Amos had his first shunt surgery. When I think back to that day, I remember the fear and uncertainty that we felt as we watched Amos go away from us, into surgery. We are so thankful for his development that is right on track and that his little brain is so healthy. Here's a link to a rememberance I did a few years ago...
