2nd Baby's First Christmas, Part 2.

So it's taken me awhile to get to this post and of course, my sister has beat me to it! ;)
But here's my version, maybe with the same pictures...
The rest of Christmas Eve was spent at home, getting the car packed and ready to drive to Nashville in time for Christmas morning. Nathan went off to church to prepare for the service and I got both kids fed and the car packed before service. I think next year, we'll pack the car before Nathan goes off to church...it was busy! :)

Anyway, the service was beautiful, but was mostly spent in the back of the church, in the cry room, with other active little people. There was a tv screen where we watched the service as it happened outside the door. It was beautiful and afterward, Nathan was happy that it went well and was ready to go on vacation!
All day we had been worried about making it home as there was a snow storm that was predicted to be happening along our route. As we drove south, the snow wasn't so bad and we made it to Louisville with no problems. But as we continued on I-65 South, it got really snowy, so much so, that the right lane was the preferred lane and the left lane was completely covered with snow. There were cars ahead and behind, and we all formed a sort of train, going about 45 miles an hour. Changing lanes was not fun so we did that as little as possible. Sadly, there are no pictures of this treacherous trip, I was too busy focusing on trying to stay awake so that Nathan would stay awake!
We finally got out of the snow, after Bowling Green and sped up to make it to Nashville. We pulled up around 2AM to snow flurries, my mom out cheering and snow music playing from her car (with the windows rolled down). It was awesome. Everyone, except the kids, were awake and we were so happy to be there. We hung out for awhile longer and then went to sleep.
Our kiddos woke us up bright and early to see that we had a beautiful white Christmas and so we headed downstairs to check out what Santa brought. My parents set out some fun stuff for the kids and enjoyed being Santa again!
We unwrapped our presents and spent the day together, laughing, eating and having fun. So much fun. It was the first time we were all together, since the babies were born this year and even though I somehow forgot to get a family picture of all of us, we were all together! It was great.

That afternoon, we went out and played in the snow. We went sledding in the inch of snow that was there and had a blast.

We had dinner together and enjoyed Christmas evening. The snow had been swirling all around all day, making it the first white Christmas in years. It was a wonderful day!
