We woke up this morning, realizing it was our anniversary. This year, we felt like the quintessential parents on their anniversary. Gone are the extravagent weekends we had as a double income/no kids couple. Instead, there were two small children between us, so that all we could do was find a finger or an arm to touch. It was sweet though.
We spent our anniversary doing our thing. Nathan went to work and I took the kids for their well-child checkups.
(Amos weighs 28.2 lbs, is 38 inches tall; Flannery is 17 lbs, 25 1/2 inches tall).
On our way home, Nathan called to see if I wanted to do a lunch date and I happily said yes. We headed to a new place, Creation Cafe that was on the canal. We sat outside and it was beautiful. We had a great lunch, all together, and then headed back to our respective places.
Tonight we had a great cookout with our small group from church and enjoyed our community. Hopefully this weekend, we'll go out just the two of us. But for today, we enjoyed being together and telling each other, "Happy Anniversary!"
