Happy One Month, Flannery!!

Yes, I know, I'm almost a week late, but still, better late than never, right?! :)

That special day came and I spent all day (as well as the days before it) remembering the moments from the month before. It was crazy to engage it so fully again, to look at the clock and remember "Oh, this was when I was getting into the tub..." or some other moment like that. Sometimes, I still can't believe that it all happened and that she's here. So crazy!

To celebrate the day, we went to the doctor for her one month check up. Our chubby girl weighed in at 9lbs, 7ozs and was 20 and 1/2 inches long, putting her into the 81st percentile for growth! WOW!! Her older brother has never seen above a 5th percentile, so that was pretty crazy. That girl loves to eat and hates the binky, much to our great dismay. Yes, I know, we said we wouldn't do that again, but there are times (like in the grocery line for instance) that feeding her is not an option. When that happens, she can really scream. It's a bit comical, actually, because all I can do in the moment is realize that I can't help her and that she'll be ok. Thankfully, she does have extra fat to keep her warm when she's burning those calories!

Life with Flannery is wonderful, full, intense at times, sweet, cuddley and more rich all around. I think that she is more laid back than Amos is, in temperment, but she can still really get intense when she wants to eat. She has bad reflux, so we have to burp her alot during feeds, which she hates!! But when she's happy and awake, she just hangs out. She isn't too wiggly and LOVES to sleep on her tummy on our tummies. We're trying to break that habit pretty quickly, but it's so tough to do when she's so sweet and cuddley!

I'm trying to enjoy these early days and not get too far ahead of myself. But it's tough--I want to know what she'll look like when she gets older, and what her personality will be, once it blossoms.

She's definitely a sweetie. We've decided to keep her! :)
