Throughout this pregnancy, I've been saying, "I just want to make it to February!" And by God's grace, we have. February 1st was Nathan's birthday but he caught a random stomach bug was in bed for the entire day and night. Thankfully, he recovered and is almost back up to speed. So we decided to celebrate later in the week by having birthday dinner, presents and cake and ice cream. Nathan's mom, GrrMe, was also in town this week and we enjoyed having her here for the birthday celebration.
I made pork tenderloin (probably my best ever), green beans and homemade macaroni & cheese for Nathan and he loved it! After dinner, Amos blew his birthday trumpet and the present-opening began! Amos drew a picture of a pirate and a pirate ship for his daddy and I gave him a gift certificate to get a spout for his freezer so he can have his beer on tap! GrrMe gave Amos a new monster truck that can go a bit by itself and he was so excited!! GrrMe gave Nathan a new bottle of scotch, too, which he was very happy about!
We had cake and ice cream and soon, a very excited little boy running circles around us! Between the sugar and the excitement of a new toy, he was bouncing off the walls until we put him in bed.
It's always so great to celebrate another year of Nathan's life...we love our husband and daddy very very much and are so thankful for him!!

While GrrMe was in town this week, we went to the Children's Museum and Amos showed her some of his favorite parts. We said hi to the Spider Man perched up on the second floor, rode in the race car, drove the small bulldozer, did some moving of boxes, played in the sand, and said hi to the giant locomotive and dinosaurs in the basement. Needless to say, we were all worn out by the end of it! Poor Amos then had to go and get his second H1N1 shot and that was no fun. Thankfully, we are all done with shots for the year! And we'll probably go back to the museum next week to see Bob the Builder!!

And today, we got lots of snow!! While we watched it fall from inside our cozy house, Amos got inspired to build a dinosaur's egg nest and to be the dinosaur. I made him a dino egg by crumpling up some newspaper and wrapping masking tape around it. That seemed to work as he spent the afternoon "sitting" on his egg in his nest. That boy loves nests!!

Never a dull moment around here!
And while we wait patiently for Baby Sister to arrive, I'm trying to take it easy and enjoy these last few days with it just being Amos and I. I can't imagine having another little person in our family, but I'm sure it will be wonderful!!
