After sticking his head in the pool, he said, "Mommy, my hair is CRAZY!!!"
Since June, his talking has vastly improved, with a more complex vocabulary, better pronunciation and correct usage of words and phrases. Here's a list of just some of the things he says:
"You know..."
"I have an idea..."
"How that happen?"
"I made a MESS!!"
"Mommy, you're the best. I wuv you!"
"Oh my gosh!"
"God fills my heart and that's fine wiff me!"
(he likes to state something or tell us what he wants to do and then says...) "And that's the TROOFE." As in, not a lie, the truth!
(and then there are a few funny conversations...)
"So, Mommy, I have a quesion for you...How does this door work?" Well, when you unlock it, you can open it. "Oh, I see!"
Amos also has an incredible imagination. He loves to play with his toys, having them talk to each other like people would ("Waaait a minute--how that happen? I don't know but be careful!"). He loves to "call" people on the phone and talk to them. He also loves to build things and put things together. He loves stacking (as usual) and now comes to get us to show off his accomplishments ("Mommy, come here, I show you somefing...").
At the Children's Museum, Amos had the dinosaurs talking to each other!

Moments before this picture was taken, George was in the timeout chair. For what, I don't know. But Amos gave him love afterward, which is what's important!

One morning, Amos came downstairs and said, "Mommy, I want to build a robot, like Curious George." (Ummm...ok. (Can I eat first?) What are we going to use?). Amos proceeded to walk around the house and pick out everything he wanted to use for the robot--the colander for the head; paper towel tubes for the arms and cars for the feet. I found the box and taped it all together. Amos was quite pleased with the robot that he built and was excited to be just like Curious George.
And here's a list of a few of the things he's been doing on his own:
Going up and down the stairs, by himself, while holding onto the banister;
Turning doorknobs and opening and closing doors (much to our chagrin!);
Playing in his room while I take a shower;
Sleeping through the night without a binky;
Eating better, for the most part (we think because of the lack of binkies to suppress his appetite!);
He gets to eat more sugary things: a little bit of syrup on his waffles and pancakes; one cookie for dessert; a few bites of ice cream, etc. But still not much candy or juice. He still prefers milk or water.
More conversational (as mentioned);
More overall independence and with that, us being able to trust him more.
And we are trying to get him on the potty more often. He still doesn't like to be interrupted (like with eating) so we just set the timer and let it do the unpleasant business of interrupting Amos. He responds well to it and has been pretty successful on the potty. Again, he gets reminded of how he's such a big boy!!
So here it is, another snapshot in time of our little guy. We love him more and more everyday. He is such a blessing to us!
