Last week, we went to the Children's Museum, with friends and did all of the usuals, but also went through their exhibit about visiting Egypt. It was really cool--we "rode" on a plane, drove a fun car through the market, and got to experience other things from Egyptian culture. We also went all the way down to the basment floor and saw lots of fish and underwater things, and then a giant locomotive, which we just passed by, but will have to go see again. It was a fun day--Amos enjoyed it! We'll have to go back soon!

And then last weekend, my brother, Joel and his band, Stillhouse Hollow, came through town and played a show. It was great. We enjoyed their music and loved having them stay with us!

On Monday of this past week, we went to the Indiana State Fair. Monday happened to be our 2nd anniversary of moving here, so it seemed only right to be cementing our Hoosier status at the fair! We hung out with another family from church for a bit, playing in the little pilgrim village. Amos got to ride a tractor--at first, it was a red one, and then when the "John Deere" tractor became available, he had to go back for that one. (Would anyone like to own up to getting him on a John Deere kick, ahem, GrrDada...?).
Anyway, then he got to "wash" a sheep, taking me back to my 4-H days of sheep washing and showing. Thankfully, I only did it for one summer!
Then we walked through the barn and saw more animals, a horse, cows and another sheep. Amos enjoyed it as usual. And then, we came upon the farm machinary, WOOHOO! Amos loved it, of course, and was in heaven once we found the display of John Deere tractors through the years.
After we waved goodbye and rode on the tractor-pulled shuttle around to the other side of the fair (the BEST part, in my opinion) we found lunch--chicken, yeah, pretty tame--and then headed home. It was fun to be there, to experience local culture and to be the hottest I've been all summer. Better luck next year!

And then on Tuesday, beacuse we needed more fun and exercise, we went to the zoo with friends and had a blast! The kids were back in school and we had the place to ourselves! This time, we saw the usuals, but also got to see an elephant being bathed and the dolphin show! Amos had a great time--and I did too!!

It was great hanging out with you guys prior to the fair. I know Katie really enjoyed talking with you, too. Best of luck with your pregnancy. Take care, Craig, Katie, Lily & Parker
