So many mundane and everyday things took place:
Amos sat on Dada and watched Snoopy; he rode on the big Mack truck at Wal-Mart; he did stickers from the movie Cars; he built a wall (using a cardboard box) and fixed the wall with his drill; and one night, a very brave Nathan ventured again into the world of Squige, trying to master the card game passed down to the Meeks from the Sheehans. Amos also really enjoyed playing with his Snoopy cards. In the end, we had alot of fun!

We made cookies! First, we made chocolate chip cookies. Then we made gingerbread cookie dough and then had the Berends over to make the cookies with us!

Aunt Abby came into town, so when Amos woke up from his nap, he was surrounded by some of his favorite ladies! With Aunt Abby in town, we did many, many fun things! We had a great dinner together with awesome wine that she brought us; we played Squige together while watching Friends; we did lots of cuddling; we had a kitchen dance party; and the picture below is of us Skyping with Beth and Eli!

On Sunday morning, we went to church to celebrate the fourth Sunday of Advent. Our church did really cool things neat colors and lots of knitted boughs.

And because we were so bored, with so much free time, we decided to jump in the car and drive to Cincinnati to see Over the Rhine play an afternoon show. Our good good friend Jeff Overstreet was also there, which was mainly why we went! The show was so great, it was awesome to see Jeff and Amos had fun keeping himself occupied during the show!

When we got home, we checked the weather and saw that it was one degree!!! outside--no wonder we were soooo cold that day!

On Monday, I gave haircuts to a few boys at our church. Amos was delighted to see that one of them brought their Thomas trains for us to borrow since he was too old. Amos was so happy and Aunt Abby helped him set up the track! After haircuts, it was time for happy hour (to relieve some stress!) and present wrapping! Abby was a great helper!

On Tuesday, we woke up to the sadness of it being Abby's last day with us! So we cuddled on the couch and watched morning tv; Amos and Abby watched the five minutes of snow flurries we got and then there were goodbye kisses!

Sadly, as Abby was driving, she hit a patch of ice and ended up in the median. A few seconds later, another car hit the same ice patch, went into the median and hit her. She was ok, but her car is quite dented. And because of the crazy temperature drop, there was ice everywhere and we couldn't go rescue her. Thankfully, a nice cop took car of her and took her to a hotel where she spent the night and was able to be close by for when Triple A came and towed her car.
Nathan was north of us, shopping and was happy to make it home, as the ice was everywhere! Our friend Wolfy was with him, so happily, they were stuck at home with us for the afternoon!

Our friends, Jonathan and Keren Marzinke were also traveling in the icy weather, making it to our house from St. Louis in 10 hours!! We were thankful they made it ok and had fun having them stay with us. This picture was taken a few minutes before they went out the door--I had just woken up!

So that's the news leading up to Christmas. More to come!
