As you scroll down, you can see that it's been another day of remember for little ol' sentimental me!
But I am happy to report that as I remember this Thursday last year and two years ago, (and 32 years ago, for that matter!), that today has had its events, but nothing like what I've remembered.
This morning, as I was brushing my teeth, I looked out our back bathroom window, and saw two police cars and a tow truck at the end of the alley. I did not get a chance to talk to the police, but did watch the tow truck pull a Cadillac Escalade out. The back windshield was punched out and I think it may have been stolen and dumped back there.
Then, as I was making breakfast and coffee, I heard the mail come, so I went to get it. I opened the door to see our mailman walking tentatively up to our neighbor's house--their dalmation was sitting there, barking at it. I immediately got worried as I had just seen them drive away and now both of their cars were gone. So I brought the dog into our house and Amos was ecstatic!
I tried calling one neighbor but ended up getting the other one on the phone. I told him what happened and he was so sorry that I had to deal with their dog but was grateful he wasn't stolen. About the time I told Nate that I thought his dog needed to go out, the dog pooed on our carpet!
He was mortified! But, having had a dog years ago, was ready to clean it up and thankfully, there was no mess.
We soon took Tobias back home, as I had a key to their door and a code for the alarm. Thankfully I didn't need the code and I think Tobias was glad to be home.
Amos was sad that the dog, or "Shadow" as he kept calling him, was no longer in our house. But I was thankful to have to only look after one small and busy creature, not two!
The only other thing, besides eating a getting dressed, that we got accomplished this morning, was a trip to the church to give Nathan the camera. Amos loves seeing his Dada in the middle of the day so we made sure to hang out a bit!
Amos is napping and later, I think we'll go to the pool Hopefully, that will be as eventful as it gets today, for this Thursday in this year.
