They arrived on Saturday, as we were eating dinner and go to witness Amos eating a quesadilla, dipping it into sour cream, refried beans and salsa!! At first, I gave him the sour cream, which he loved (no surprise to you that know me!), and would lick off, not taking a bite. We finally had to get him to take a bite, too! Then I offered him the beans, as he was so enjoying the dipping. After I added salsa to my plate, he asked for some too, and was soon eating and dipping in all three. We were so happy to show my parents, my mom especially, who has given me lots of tips for helping Amos to eat better. Amos did more dipping tonight, but more on that later!

Our visit with my parents was easy going and enjoyable. They had not been to our house since the winter and had not seen our newly finished attic. They enjoyed the tour and Amos did too--he loves to make a stop up in Dada's studio to play the drums and guitars.
Sunday morning I overslept. I have been having a really tough time with getting back into this timezone (Amos has done really well!) so I was up really late and then up again with Amos in the middle of the night. He's getting better but still needs a breathing treatment about once each night. That's been a douzy.
So Dad went to church on Sunday, since my alarm clock slept in too from being up in the middle of the night. Mom and Amos and I enjoyed hanging out in our pajamas until the boys came home and we made lunch. After that was nap time and then a jaunt up to Broadripple where we found that the Broadripple Brew Pub was open AND allowed children to come in! So we had a great and greasy dinner of fish and chips and good beer. Amos at the fish and chips well, while being quite squirmy! After dinner we walked around and then headed home again. I hit the hay early, trying to get back to being on Eastern time!

This morning, Nathan was home and we all enjoyed breakfast together. After that, we went to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where they have the Indy 500 each spring. Amos fell asleep in the car and stayed asleep as we walked around the museum and hall of fame, which are in the middle of the huge track. He woke up in time to have his picture taken with Grandaddy in a race car and walk around, wanting to touch all of the cars that were protected only by blue rope and our good consciences! I told Mom that having Amos sleep through much of our time there was a good thing--we all got to enjoy it!!

After walking around a bit outside to catch a glimpse of the track,we headed home for lunch. My Mom brought a huge bag of veggies from their garden--lots of cucumbers and cherry tomatoes. So we had yummy ham sandwiches with veggie treats! Nathan went to work and we all napped. I woke up in time to send my parents off to Michigan, where they are going to stay with my Grandma, to see family and friends.
Tonight Amos had a great dinner with us. He dipped chicken strips in BBQ sauce and cucumber and a carrot in Ranch dressing, which he took bites of--a huge step!! He seems to really enjoy the whole dipping thing so we may try hummus and pita chips tomorrow!!

After dinner I gave him a haircut as things were getting unruly! He sat on his changing table with things to occupy him--a cough medicine syringe, which he likes to take apart, Oscar the Grouch, etc. He began to get restless after I had only finished one side, so things look a bit wonky. I finished the other side and had to go back to the first side to balance things out!
He didn't like being covered with hair so I may keep a tshirt on him next time!

Tonight he went to be late--he had another late nap this afternoon. Hopefully we can get back on schedule tomorrow!
