Here we are, in the land of very cool temperatures, beautiful landscapes, familiar roads, good friends, Starbucks as you walk off the plane, old friends, a place that feels like it fits you and that you are in turn, a good fit. Amos slept the whole time on the plane (after we finally took off after sitting on the plane for nearly an hour) and I think, was able to get into this time zone, three hours behind our usual time.
It's been great, emotional, fun and wonderful to be here this afternoon and evening. We got to the Jensens' house and Amos immediately became obsessed with their toy lawnmower. He dug in the dirt, played outside and enjoyed the kids and the dog before we had to tear him away for dinner in the park with friends. Tonight we ate and played with The Haugs: Scott, Cheryl, Ani and Louis; Jon, Jen and Grace Gay; Jenny Hitch and Josh and Jonas Moore; and Jonathan and Keren Marzinke and Jonathan's parents. We enjoyed watching our kids play together and loved their reunion.
I'll do a picture update later; for now, enjoy Josh Moore's version!
We are going to bed very late but had a great time with Rick and Vicki tonight. We hope Amos is on this time zone and that we all get really good rest tonight!
