Easy going, easy going day

Last night, Amos started coming down with a cold. He sneezed a little bit yesterday but began sneezing more at dinner time and by bed time, he was pretty snotty as well. Throw in a little cough from the irritated throat and we declared him sick. But he had a pretty good night. He was up very early, around 5:30 and couldn't stop coughing, even after he had medicine. So I brought up the stuff and Nathan did a breathing treatment. We all went back to bed and were up in time for our Physical Therapy appointment with Christine.
At the time of Amos' evaluations, we made specific goals for treatment. Amos has since (on his own) accomplished some of those goals and impressed Christine with his speed and skill on his feet. One thing she did notice was how he walks on his feet. They seem to fall inward, and right now he has no arch so there's a bit of an angle in if you look at his heels while he stands up. We'll continue to watch that and may have to get shoes with better support (sorry Converse!) or some brace inserts. She wasn't too worried, though and wants to keep an eye on it.
We also worked on helping him step up the stairs to strengthen his legs. She wants us to stand with our backs arched over him and help him up by holding both of his hands in front of him. This allows him to do most of the work himself. I am a bit nervous of having him stepping up the stairs, especially our wooden ones, but I know he'll do okay and we'll surely be there to help him!
We really like both therapists and feel very blessed to be receiving good help for Amos. They really liked him too, impressed with his many skills and interests.
After Amos' appointment, we settled in for a cuddle and a viewing of "Follow that Bird" a classic Sesame Street movie from our childhood. We made sure to bring down the little figurines from the Fisher Price Sesame Street toy and Amos enjoyed playing with them and watching the movie. He sat still through most of it and only got wiggly after a snack and rise in blood sugar, so he decided that wrestling with Da-da and his giant stuffed dog on the floor would be his next activity!
I love that movie and loved watching it with Nathan and Amos, reciting classic lines as, "Don't forget to breathe--in and out!" He was in pretty good spirits at lunch and now is resting quietly, hopefully for a long while!
And lastly, Amos is getting two more teeth! In addition to the monster molar on the bottom left (that is fighting gravity to come through and giving Amos pain in the process), he is also getting teeth on both sides of his middle two teeth on the bottom. They are starting to cut through, and I am excited to see what he'll look like with those teeth in!
