Sick day #5 and friends in town

Our sicknesses are getting better slowly but surely, so that's good. Amos' cough was in the tickley-throat stage last night so it was a long night, slow morning and early to nap.
Before his nap, though, I gave him a hair cut, a real one! He now looks like a respectible older toddler, and it's truly something to adjust to. Of course, he's as cute as ever and the hair cut was not easy, but he looks great and hopefully I'll post pictures soon. Sorry to mention it without pictures, but the post is mostly so I'll remember when it happened!
Amos is also full-on walking. He's rarely crawling, mostly due to the fact that he figured out how to stand up in the middle of the floor, without pulling up on anything, and has managed to do it over and over. He's been doing laps on his favorite loop, without the walker though, and with the addition of his new favorite toys in his hands: the container and pumper from a hand-sanitizer container shaped like an alligator and a little plastic tourist camera of Paris from the Paris airport (thanks Grandaddy!). The camera he pulls around behind him with the little string. Next we'll get his little doggie suited up with a longer string for pulling. And no, I'm not worried he'll choke himself; somehow, I'm just not.
It is so great to see him walking so much and he seems to be really happy with it. It's like when he figured out he could crawl and how the world opened up more for him. This way, he gets to move around and easily carry his favorite toys with him.
Having the Riberas and the Robbins here with us is so great. Again, there will be pictures soon. It's so late right now that to do a picture post would take awhile. I'm looking forward to our time with family (yeah we think of Brendan and Jessica as family) and am excited for the coming days!
