Last night when I went to give Amos a bath, I noticed that he had broken out in spots, all on his back and lower torso. The rash is likely due to the fever he had, and could be roseola. He's had these reactions before, and the Doctors think it's just a reaction to having a virus. So, I am more relieved and glad that we didn't put him through lots of test just to find out it was a virus!
Today he has spots on his face and head and is feeling ok. He coughed alot last night and ended up in bed with us. Today his cough is better, but we have been on top of medicine and breathing treatments every four hours. That seems to help. We're not sure why he's coughing--his nose isn't running and he doesn't have a fever anymore. Still, we are giving him zycam and pro-biotics to help him get better.
This morning we met with a lady from the Developmental Therapy program here called First Steps. If the therapists come and think that Amos is far enough behind in certain skill areas, they'll start giving him therapy, in our house! with a copay of $3!!
So we'll see how that goes.
Finally, Beth and Dan arrived safely home last night and (I'm sure) enjoyed a wonderful dinner out. They traveled about 36 hours in all and only slept for about 3. They encountered their first bits of culture shock when they stepped of the plane in NY and had 6 choices of places to eat. They weren't used to that! They barely made their connecting flight in Senegal, and Beth said she ran about 1/2 a mile to make the plane. They sounded good and happy to be home. I haven't checked in today, yet, but imagine they are resting from such an adventure!
