Last Friday, Amos and I drove down to Franklin, TN, to surprise Abby for her birthday. I turned his seat around so he could enjoy the drive. Plus it made me feel like we were driving together because I could see him right there! He really enjoyed it and did a great job on the trip. We stopped a few times to stretch our legs and eat lunch, but overall, it was a good trip!
When we arrived, we were greeted by my Dad and soon, my mom and brother, Jesse, arrived. Amos tried out their pint-sized table and enjoyed reading with his Grandmarmie, while we waited for the birthday girl to arrive.

She and her two friends, Mary and Becky, came with her and we had a big party. Our brother Jesse flew in to surprise her, as well. She was so happy and surprised that she cried tears of joy!
The next morning we got up and hung out together. Jesse made breakfast, Amos found a new guitar and Abby opened more presents!!

And she got another surprise...
Later that day we went to the Pub in downtown Franklin, for Abby's first legal pints. We enjoyed fish 'n' chips and yummy beers on tap! After the pub, we went home while everyone else went to a Nashville Predators Hockey Game. They returned to continue the party...more beer drinkin' and UNO playin'!

On Sunday we lazed around, watched Nascar, did some shopping and had a great dinner together before everyone returned home.

Amos found a new playmate! He and Uncle Jesse had alot of fun together!

After everyone left, Amos played a bit, finding another chair just his size. After a futile effort to put him to bed, he ended up on my lap, along with his giant dog, mid-sized blanket and small dog while I wrote out invitations for Beth's baby shower. Yes, I was not pleased!

The next morning we got all ready to go. Amos and his Grandaddy played with Pixie outside while I packed. Amos also learned how to meow like a cat, but it's more like: "mblbbllbl mblblblbl" with a "me-ow" tone of voice. Pretty darn cute!

At home he was reunited with two things he greatly loves: Da-da and the mandolin!

He also enjoyed climbing on the big chair. He had a late bedtime that night, as he had lots of wiggles to get out from the car ride home.

amos is one cool little dude! reading your blog makes me feel very melancholy that my kiddos won't have the privilege of growing up with him. i remain hopeful, however, that they will get to know him through the years as our friend-who-lives-in- indianapolis-but-you'd-never-know-it-
because-his-family-visits-us-in- seattle-ALL-THE-TIME!" (hint, hint!)
