8 months, (almost) 18 lbs!

I came across this post, titled "17 months, 17 lbs!" from 2007. I was again awestruck at how small Amos was. Flannery, I'm sure, is nearing 18 lbs, as she turns 8 months, not 18!!
Lately, Flannery is a clingy girl, who loves her mama, especially when she's tired! I can't remember Amos being so clingy, but Nathan tells me that he was. It's ok I suppose. Someday I'll probably miss this phase!
Too, in the last month, she has become even more expressive and interactive. She is making more sounds, seeming like she wants to talk and be involved in our conversations! She still adores Amos. He makes her laugh constantly and when he walks into the room, she lights up. Amos still doesn't know what to do with this new found attention and adoration and at times gets shy. But he does like to "talk" to her and make her laugh. It's really fun to see them interact with each other, too!
Our little girl also got her first two teeth in the last month. And it was no fun, for any of us! She was even more clingy and had trouble sleeping. She would wake up a few times during the night, and sometimes, would stay awake for over an hour, no matter how much I rocked her! So I decided to start sleep training her. I wanted her to learn how to fall asleep on her own. And since she doesn't like it when I leave the room (she's clingy, remember?!) it takes her a bit to calm down and fall asleep. Still, I've gotten a little bit of my sanity back and since she's got those rolls to spare, I don't worry about her!
In the last few days, she's started clapping when we say, "YAAAAAAY!" And some times, it seems that she'll also try to say "Yay!"
She is on the move, officially. I can no longer set her down in one spot and come back to find her there. She's army crawling everywhere, just like Amos did. AND, she's mopping the floors for us, in the process!

I feel like I am really starting to enjoy her. It seems like she's really part of our family and that she loves us as much as we love her. It's great that she interacts with us just a little bit more each day and it makes me excited for the day when she'll get to talk to us. We love our sweet Laney!
