One of the renovations that were finally completed was the moving of the laundry room up to the second floor.*
It took a bit longer for it to be finished because our contracter had to special order the wood floor to match what we already have. It was installed last Friday and soon, so was our new stackable washer and dryer.
I finally was able to do laundry and it was amazing!! Actually, Amos helped me out on the first load, and loved it. He loved being able to load the washer and watch it spin. Subsequent loads have been just as great, including the diapers.
There is still the small issue of finding space for it all to hang dry, but so far, the bathroom has been sufficient. I'm sure we'll work it out in due time.

Now if only there was a better way to get it all folded.

*(Yes, I know that there are starving people in the world that don't have homes or even have clean water to watch their clothes with, but still, this middle-class American is happy and thankful for this blessing and treat. I'm thankful for my husband, who helped to figure out how to fit the laundry room/closet on the second floor and who works so hard to provide such little luxuries to help make my job easier. Because now, I will love doing the laundry!)

Okay, if that is an energy efficient washer I would really advise you to do a google search about your specific washer and cloth diapers. We moved into a place that has a brand new HE washer and dryer and they were amazing, until a few month later when I started having MAJOR issues with my diapers. I have now washed them all (they don't smell good anymore even after being washed) and have them collecting in a basket. Tomorrow (or sometime this week) I am going to strip them all by hand to get all the detergent build up out and soak them all in vinegar before washing again. It is going to be such a feat of a project and I am not looking forward to it. All that to say, I love cloth diapering, but wish I would have known how to best wash my diapers with our new machine--I could have saved myself a lot of trouble and the hassle of having to use disposables for about 2 weeks while I basically hand wash all our diapers.
