On Tuesday, Uncle Jesse came over after work. After I cut his hair, he and Amos did lots of playing together.
Skipping rocks with Uncle Jesse...

Almost 5 months photo shoot with Flannery...

Amos got in some good wrestling and fun with Uncle Jesse (who also got to hang out with his niece...)

And some good cuddles with GrrDada and GrrMama...

On Wednesday, me and the kiddos went into town and had lunch with our dear friend Darci, who is due any day now with her first baby. My mom is her midwife, so we had lots of fun catching up and talking about the impending arrival!

On Wednesday night, Nathan and I had a date to the Ryman Auditorium, where a hymnsing was happening. It was great to see friends on the Ryman stage, playing accordian, singing and playing guitar. What an awesome night it was!
Of course, before it was over, the grandkids gave their grandparents heck, and caused a stir! Amos went back to sleep but Flannery needed more coaxing! By the time we got home, little Laney and her grandma were cuddling on the couch!

On Thursday morning, we hung out on the porch all morning, taking our time easing into the day. It was beautiful! Later, we played outside in the yard and enjoyed the breezy afternoon.

Amos made up a game, Football Golf, where he would put the football helmet on and then hit the football with the baseball bat. He loved this game! Aunt Christen came over that evening to celebrate his birthday with us and played a little Foodball Golf with Amos!

That night we celebrated Jesse's 30th birthday (late) and Amos' 4th birthday (early). Jesse grilled hamburgers and hotdogs for us and in true Larry Sheehan style, put the dogs and burgers on their buns and put them back in their respective bags.
Jesse got to open presents first and Amos helped him. Amos opened his presents next and got a few fun things! GrrMe also came over and we all had a blast!

On Friday morning, we packed up and got ready to drive north. We were planning to stop at home to pick up a few things and then continue to drive north to Michigan for a continued vacation on the Lake.
Before we left, Amos got his wiggles out by playing another new game: his track, where he would ride his toy John Deere tractor down the hall and then would run backwards back into the kitchen. This time, he had help: GrrMama pushed him one way and then GrrDada pushed him back. Needless to say, Amos loved it.

The second part of our trip was beginning and we were so thankful to have been able to go to TN!
Then Amos found the infamous Elvis Presley phone and pushed the button that made the toy Elvis shake his hips and sing "Jailhouse Rock." This, of course, led to an Elvis dance party.

When we finally headed out, Amos and Flannery were both so tired and fell right asleep.

At about an hour and a half south of Indianapolis, we hit traffic. We came to a dead stop and watched people in front of us get out of their cars and walk around. Nathan got out and ran up to a very kind trucker who knew what was going on. He found out that there was a huge accident involving an 18 wheeler, 40 miles north of us. We decided to drive a few yards up and make a U-turn to get on 65 south and exit to get onto a highway. It worked, and we were so thankful to be moving and not sitting still!
We made it home around 8 that night, got our stuff, fed Flannery and headed back out on the road!
