Christmas #3 and January!

After we celebrated the New Year, we celebrated another Christmas! GrrMe, Aunt Christen and Uncle Aaron came up for a visit and we got to have Christmas all together. Of course, Amos loved opening the presents and did much of the opening for us! Aunt Christen knitted him some new mittens, which he really loves and GrrMe gave him some fun new toys: tractors, foam swords and a new bulldozer/backhoe combo. We had yummy spiced cider and enjoyed being together.
We also enjoyed showing everyone around town. We had breakfast at our favorite little cafe and we also did a tour of the church and art studios. It was great to have everyone here, even for a short time!

At some point during that week, we got snow, the msot we've had this winter. Amos was stoked to go out and dig. So, at the risk of going into labor, I went out and shoveled the sidewalk. Thankfully, nothing happened!! We had fun, though, and managed to stay warm!!

After everyone went home, we took down the Christmas tree. But before that, we took a belated Christmas picture of us all, with Amos and I still in our pj's. Oh well, I guess it captures the spirit of this winter and our hibernating!!
Amos still will mention the tree from time to time. When he asks where it is, I tell him we took it down, it's not Christmas anymore. "Awe, I miss it," is usually his response. And somehow when I tell him we'll get another one next year, it makes him feel better.

In preparation for the little lady's arrival, Amos got to help his Daddy put together the small crib that has been used very well in our family. My mom slept in it when she was a baby, as well as a few of her siblings. Amos slept in it for his first year and even cousin Elijah used it. I am excited for Baby Sister to carry on the tradition and wonder how long she'll use it!!

So far January is going well. Can't believe it's here already!!
