Since we've been home...

...things have been crazy (hence the time it took to put up our VACATION post!).

As we pulled off the interstate from driving back from TN, our little red CRV, Rudy, was idling very very low, and we were convinced it was the Indy air! Not so--we just pushed our car over its limit, so the problem we had before was now worse and in need of repair. So we finally gave them the go-ahead to rebuild the engine and yes, we'll be driving this baby for a long time!

W've been driving a minivan and I have to admit that I really like it! Those Honda folks make is super easy for you to drive this large vehicle and it's such a smooth ride! But we're not ready for it yet, so someday this week, we'll get our little jeep back!

Last week it snowed again, which Amos really enjoyed. We went to the library and found a stuffed Big Bird as big as Amos! We went for an appointment with the orthotics folks and they were happy that Amos' footwear is helping him be a better jumper and kicker and all around two-footed mammal! And while we were so far north, we found a Trader Joes and SuperTarget within a few minutes of each other. It's totally worth the drive to hit that every week!

And last weekend, Nathan went on a retreat with the elders from the church so Amos and I had dates together: we ate dinner at the Berends' house on Friday and then had breakfast at Starbucks on Saturday and watched the snow. We cuddled and watched the Muppet Show until lunch that day and then were pleasantly surprised when Nathan came home early! That afternoon, Amos got some quality Dada time, complete with snow shoveling and stuffed dog juggling.
