The last 24 hours...

...have been interesting.
Poor Amos got a bit constipated over the weekend and despite efforts Monday night, things didn't happen until Tuesday morning. Sorry if that's Too Much Information!
Anyway, Tuesday morning, I asked him if he wanted to sit on the potty. He did and sure enough, he pooed. It was most unpleasant for him, but we celebrated the first potty experience through the tears and hope it wasn't too scarring! The rest of the day went well--I gave him lots of different fiber sources and things seemed to get back on track.
Then last night, as we're sitting at church, listening to a talk, Amos and I were in the back, finishing dinner. As he was eating, he was playing air drums and eating. After countless attempts to quiet him, I finally gave up, realizing that probably no one else could hear him. He took a bite, started air drumming again and then started choking. I tried whacking him but had to get up and walk out to the hallway where he finally started breathing again and then threw up, all over me and all over the floor. Thankfully, a fellow parent (who is also a family doctor) came and helped and made sure Amos was ok. Poor Nathan was running around because the room we were in had just partially flooded, sending water back into his office. After Amos and I got to the bathroom, and more throw up happened, Nathan was able to join us, help us leave and clean up after us. Quite a night!
But the fun didn't stop there. This morning, shortly after we made it downstairs before breakfast, Amos started whining and came and pulled me into the living room so he could cuddle with me. He started crying and writhing in pain. I recognized the signs and was soon running up to the bathroom sink in case he threw up. He didn't but we brought a towel downstairs just in case and watched Clifford. A few minutes later, he threw up again, but it wasn't very messy.
Every time this happens, he throws up, fusses then feels better. This time it took longer for him to feel better but he finally was asking for cheerios and crackers. He does have a small fever but I don't feel like he's got a bug, as he's not thrown up any more and his energy is up.
We spent the rest of the morning lounging around, watching old Sesame Street and playing. Amos also found a new hat and happily "mowed the lawn!" We'll see how the rest of the day goes...!
