Coming home

Two years ago today, Sept 13th, Amos got to leave the hospital and go home with us. It was such an awesome day.

That morning, the docs came in and gave us the news. It had been quite a week. I had been staying at the hospital since Sunday or Saturday so that I could get into practice of taking care of him and feeding, etc. I was so ready to be on my own with him, but they wanted to watch him eat, still and see him gain a little more weight.

So by Wednesday morning, I was so excited that we could finally leave and be home. So our nurse helped us pack up (we had really moved in) and wrote up the discharge summary. We got all of our medications and got ready to go. Right before we left, Amos had a blowout and we had to dress him in a hospital gown to take him home! We layered the blankets on and took him home!

It was a really cold day and Beth and Dan brought warm chai over after they helped us bring everything home. It was great to be home all together--to be home, to be warm and to enjoy being a family, finally.
