Amos' first animal sound is....

...ruff ruff!
Last night, Amos, as he has been known to do this week, surprised us and broke out his animal noises skills by imitating a dog he heard barking outside. Of course, because we are just that reactionary, we freaked out! I tried to capture it on video, but of course, it didn't happen. Later that night, as I was trying to get him to sleep, we heard the dog again and again, Amos imitated him. I played along and then it was back to business. A few minutes later, we heard the dog again, but his time, I wouldn't let him play...it was bed time! Today at lunch, Amos asked for a cracker on his own, without any prompting. But because I wasn't used to him saying it, he had to say it over and over again for me to get it...."ca-cker, ca-cker, ca-ker, ca-cker, ca-cker..." When I finally realized what he was saying, I got really excited to hear him asking for something, using his new word! I think he's trying to keep up with his buddies Jonas and Grace, who are also learning new words and animal sounds!
Today has been interesting, one that I thought would be alot different. After breakfast this morning, Nathan went to church band practice, leaving Amos and I in our pjs at home. At one point, I tried to bend over to pick up Amos and felt my back begin to ache a whole lot. I thought I wasn't going to be able to pick him up and/or stand up straight. It was all downhill after that. We've been doing very little today, in our pjs, watching tv and playing in the living room. I've also been on medicine and the heating pad, so hopefully I'll be better by tomorrow. Apparently, I did overdo it yesterday when I was exercising with wrist and ankle weights on, after not really exercising for a long time. But my thought was, "what's the worst that can happen? Sure I'll be sore, so what's the big deal?" Well, I never thought that every muscle connected to my legs in my back would ache and that my back would be the sorest. So, I've learned my lesson and will take it easy next week!
Nathan was able to buy a new bed and mattress for our guest room today. We were seeing lots of commercials for bed sales this week, so we thought we would take advantage of them! So we'll see if the bed actually works...it gets here later this week.
And yes, I was hoping to post more attic pictures today, but that and many other things didn't get done today, so oh well! And Nathan's not feeling himself...fighting nausea again, after being home on Thursday with an upset stomach. So, we're home, hanging out, (me and Amos in our pj's still!) watching Green Bay and Seattle battle it out in the snow (one of my mom's favorite things!).
More fun posts to come!

Whoever thought words could be so fun...I was so excited to read about Amos' new words. It's an amazing thing to begin to be able to communicate with them the way we communicate with the rest of the world...go Amos!

We miss you all!
